One Month Later.....

It has been one month since our friend Van was baptized. Today his older sister Thi followed his example and made the decision to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a very special day for this family and we feel lucky to be a part of it.

This day was made more special with Van and Thi's mother coming to support. She was against Van being baptized and did not come, but once Thi decided to be baptized she softened her heart and agreed to be there. Van's wife Hang also joined us.

We celebrated later that night with a spaghetti dinner. Van made us the most delicious spaghetti accompanied with salad and bread sticks.

It's a tight squeeze around our four person table but we double up on chairs and make it work.

It is Thi's birthday this Friday Nov. 9th so we did a birthday cake (from a box) and sang to her. She really wanted to be baptized before her birthday so she could start her next year in life with a clean slate.

My favorite part of the day would have to be hearing Thi and Van bear their testimonies in Sacrament meeting. They were the first two to stand during testimony meeting and even though I couldn't understand the words they were speaking, I knew that they each had a strong testimony of the gospel because of the spirit they emanate.
